Haul & Swatches: MAC HEAVENLY CREATURE COLLECTION

MAC Heavenly Creature Collection

MAC recently released their newest collection which I was ALL over! It featured 4 Mineralize Skinfinishes, 4 Mineralize Blushes, 9 Mineralize Eyeshadows, 5 Lipsticks, and 5 Cremesheen Glasses; and some skincare items. I picked up 2 of the Mineralize Skinfinishes, 2 Mineralize Eyeshadows, 1 Mineralize Blush, and the repromote of the Volcanish Ash Exfoliator.

This collection was rather big and it was divided into 3 parts... Colour, Eyes, and Skin. So I'll start off first with Colour which features the skinfinishes and the blush I picked up:

Mineralize Skinfinish - Earthshine

Mineralize Skinfinish - Earthshine

swatches Mineralize Skinfinish Earthtshine swatches

Earthshine MES is described on the MAC website as a "Tarnished bronze with gold pearl and pink reflects" and to me is a VERY warm bronzy metallic shade with reflective shimmers.... VERY pigmented! This one is beautiful to be used as a bronzer/blush, I've heard this one is very similar to Metal Rock but I can't say since I don't own it.

Mineralize Skinfinish - Star Wonder

This one is my favorite out of all. Star wonder is described as "Plumy pink with multi-dimensional pearl" and the description hits the spot.  Exactly what it is and plumy shimmery pink; this shade is beyond B E A U T Y -ful!

The only thing I'm upset about is the cracks or openings you see within the marble... I feel like it could break soo easily. The color outcome really depends on the marbling your may have or not have and what part you decide to dip your brush in. To me this is the "must have" out of the bunch.

I also picked out 1 blush, which was the highly coveted Supernova...

Mineralize Blush - Supernova

Supernova is described as a "Magenta and burnished gold melange", Supernoa its a hot bright pink, more of a magente instead of a hot pink. It had swirlies of a sort of dark peachy gold with a hint of brown in there. When swatched it's a gorgoeus color. This one is super pigmented so be careful and make sure to tap and tap off excess!

Moving onto Eyes...

I picked up 2 Mineralize Eyeshadows; Water & Earthly.

To be honest I picked this up because of the color of the swirls were so pretty.... don't lie you know you have done so too! :) MAC describes water as a "Yellow, lime green, and blue". Water has swirlies of green/yellow color, sparkly blue, and a minty green in there. It's gorgeous! It swatches horribly though! If you use it dry you won't get anything but if used wet its a whole another deal.

It transforms into this beautiful greenish-blue color its not bright as would expect from the pan but its a beautiful mixture nonetheless. I usually wear my MES wet so I don't really stress about the dry swatch.

Earthly is described as a "Beige, peach, and cool brown melange". I would say its more of beige, bronzy/gold , dark brown swirls. It's pretty and perfect for my neutral girls! This one has great pigmentation when used dry or wet. Wet just makes it a bit more metallic and opaque than what it already is.

That's all makeup wise now onto the random purchase....

Now MAC had a whole section promoting items that were already on their permanent line they just had 1 single item that was a repromote from a past collection which was the... Volcanic Ash Exfoliator!

Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

This was something that I knew I was going to get right when I found out it was being repromoted. To only find out after purchasing that this was reformulated and its not in its original formula. Now that's a disappointment!

When I first started watching youtube videos this all I heard raves about so this really disappoints me just because it won't give me the same results as if it was with the original formulation.

Onto the product itself... it comes it cutest packaging! White shiny box with silves and gold glitters. It comes in a squeeze tube and it a blackened brown. It actually looks very much like poo when squeezed out LOL

I heard that this was VERY abrasive and I have very sensitive skin so I'm really scared to use this on my face. More like TERRRIFIED! I did use it as a foot scrub once and it has a nice smell to it and it left my skin really soft and brighter. Even though I only used it once as a foot scrub I could REALLY feel the beads; they are quite large. So be careful!

That's it for my MAC Heavenly Creature Collection & swatches! I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat helpful in picking out what you'd like. I know some products may be sold out at MAC but I see everything is still available at Nordstrom. Check the beauty section and should find everything there!

FOTD: SmokedTude & Teal Pop!

Smoked Out Neutrals w/ a Teal Pop!

Using the NudeTude Palette by TheBalm

I've been absolutely obssesed with this look that I just been wearing over and over and over again. I can't stop, I like it too much! I usually change my look everyday and try something new, but I've been stuck on this one so I thought I make a post about it.

I started off with my MAC Paintpot in NUBILE all over the lid. Then I started off with my favorite transition color by Wet & Wild from the Vanity palette. Which is basically a MAC's Cork eyeshadow dupe ;) I put that color ALL over my crease to create some depth and help blend the other colors later on.

left Transition color & right Lower lash line color

I took my NudeTude Palette and the first color I took was Sultry and I concentrated that on the outer corners and slowly taking it up all the way almost to the brow.

After that I then I mixed Sexy and Sleek and did the same thing only I didn't go all the way up I just try and concentrate it in my crease.

Sexy & Sleek
Since we left the lid and inner corner open, I wanted to put a shimmery color so I put Stand-offish and on the inner corner I put that shimmer white called Sassy.

For the lower lash line I used this beautiful Teal by L.A. COLORS. As for highlight I used the MAC's Brulee dupe which is the first color to the left on the Wet & Wild Vanity palette.I winged my liner which came out wonky but that's ok.

I honestly can't remember what I used for the cheeks but I do know I contured. For lips I used my fav lip combo right now which is Maybelline's lipstick in Flawless Fuchsia and Milani's 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in 39 Fashion Diva. Voila!

NOTD: Neon Rainbow Ombre Nail Design!

Taste the Rainbow!

I've been obsessing over ombre nails lately and one of my fav youtube girls I'm subscribe to did a nail tutorial with this design. Now I didn't especifically used the ones she did I just used with what I have and they look pretty darn similar.

All you need is a makeup sponge and a little bit of water... so simple! Here's a link to her video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXq2e-ULLDw

The last ombre I did was with a dry sponge and let me tell you difference that it is when used wet. I feel like it blends and applies better when used damp and it's such an easy process.

It think the only things that it could be slightly annoying its just the clean up. Cleaning up the cuticles after you are all done is a little bit of a pain.

As far as the color I used... I used OH EM GEE! by Julie G, Kicking the Habit by Spoiled, and Neon Melon by Sinful Colors! That's it! Oh and a pale skin tone color by Revlon Colorstay.... I think it was Bare Bones if I'm not mistaken.

Let me know how do you like my NOTD? and If you are planning to do this NOTD? :) Super easy!!! Really, really!

NOTD: Holo Lilac Ombre Nail Design

Ok so I know this post is long overdue but here it is! This was my first time doing the ombre nail design so I was a little worried but I actually think I didn't do too bad for being my first time.

So since its spring/summer I'd thought I would pick this lilac color by Revlon called Charming . I wanted to be fun and glittery so I picked 2 other polishes a holographic lilac glitter by Funky Fingers called Sands & Stilettos as my second shade and the other one by Spoiled called Papa-Paparazzi with more bigger glitter and darker base to play off the ombre better as my third shade.

Charming, Sands & Stilettos, and Papa-Paparazzi

Charming, Sands & Stilettos, and Papa-Paparazzi

So how do you make this design?

Simply take a makeup sponge at the end draw with the nail polish brush a line across and simply dab it to the nail concentrating at the tip first then gradually working your way up that's it! That's all I did!

Have you guys ever tried the ombre effect as a nail design? Let me tell you I've just been obssesing over it!

OOTD : Tribal & Booties !

This is actually what I wore for Mother's Day... I know I know is a little old but in my defense I had completely forgotten about it. Anywho here it is.... I love this outfit! It was mother's day so I didn't want anything too flashy, something family oriented but I the same I wanted to look cute since you know I'm a mommy myself.

That day was very hot so I wanted something flowy and spring approved, so I went with this colorful hi-low print top. It has button detail in the chest area. This top was sooo comfortable and the best part it was only $13 at JcPenney! Yes $13! If you haven't shopped in JcPenney lately you definetly should. Their prices have improved and they have really nice clothing.

I paired it with some dark wash skinny jeans from F21 which were only I think $10.80 or $12.80 if I'm not mistaken. For jewerly I went with my Jewelmint ring and can't remeber what I earrings I had but I know it was very simple.

For shoes I went with the gray strappy tassled open toe botties... that was a mouthful! I got this looong time ago from this store called A.J. Wright which was a very inexpensive store which has closed now in all United States. It was like a branch of Marshalls and TJ Maxx just much cheaper. These were only $14.99! Yes, I try to be very budget friendly ;)

If you are wondering what on my nails and toesies is Wet N Wild Megalast in Tropicalia.

Hope you guys like my Outfit of the Day ! =)

Sinful Colors Castaway Collection!

I grabbed a few of the polishes from the Castaway Collection and the one I will be showing you today is . . .

Sinful Colors - Neptune

Sinful Colors Nail Polishes retail for usually $1.99 at most drugstores but with my couponing of course I was able to score this and other cosmetics completely FREE! Yea you heard right, FREE! Lol

Alright moving onto the polish itself, Neptune is a gorgeous in between shade of a royal blue and a periwinkle blue the shade is stunning. I usually don't gravitate towards shades like this but this one was the exception.

Sinful Colors - Neptune
Sinful Colors - Neptune (close up)

Isn't gorgeous? Is that in between color you usually won't pick up but this one specifically has grey-ish silver shimmers in it which makes that amazing! The polish is opaque in two coats and the consistency was a little on the thick side but it didn't give me any issues at all.

Sinful Colors - Neptune (close up)

I don't know but this just reminds me of a rainy day, in a really good way. Very calming, soothing, not in your face type of color.

Will do some other posts about some other Sinful goodies I got coming soon :)

This is one of the Castaway must haves but don't be surprised if you come out with the whole collection because they are all gorgeous!!!

Let me know which ones have you gotten from this collection?
